Witness to the (digital) world
Hannes Fleckstein / Mateusz Dworczyk
Witness to the (digital) world is a publication by the artist duo Fleckstein/Dworczyk, which is released on the occasion of their exhibition of the same name at the NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein in 2021 in the exhibition series Young Art Euregio in cooperation with STAWAG. The catalogue includes an introductory text by Peggy Schoenegge, an insight into the artists’ work, and documentation of the exhibition.
Witness to the (digital) world addresses today’s digital communication and its impact on our daily lives from the perspective of the media artists. Through their works, which encompass various media such as video, video performance, photography and installation, Fleckstein/Dworczyk address the effects of the digital on society, identity and perception. Therefore, the publication not only provides insight into the exhibition but also into the artists’ thinking and working processes. The publication is thus an interesting visual volume for anyone interested in the interplay between art, technology and society.
The catalogue (softcover, 290 x 210 mm), designed by Káschem Büro, comprises 86 pages, is self-published as a first limited edition of 100 copies.

Permanent Moment
Christine Liebich
The catalog Christine Liebich – Permanent Moment is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein.
Christine Liebich (born 1987 in Landshut, lives and works ibid.) negotiates the dualisms of today in her sculptures. The wall works bent from structural steel and cast bronzes question the relationship between culture and nature. In the work series Naturalistisch arbeitend, relief-like powder-coated steel dandelions become symbols of hope, strength, and confidence. The sculptor’s works have a fragile effect on the viewer and captivate with their graphic quality, lightness and elegance. For Liebich, they are drawings in space, timeless snapshots, equally shimmering in the light of the sun and the exhibition space.
Liebich’s exhibition at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein is accompanied by the publication of the artist’s first monograph. The book provides a comprehensive insight into her practice and documents the genesis and installation of the exhibition. The texts were written by Maurice Funken, Ben Kaufmann and Renate Puvogel.

Processes
Jan Hoeft
For the CARL research center at RWTH Aachen University, Jan Hoeft has created a 42-meter-long frieze that addresses the complex processes of development and change. On traffic signs, arrows point from left to right, crossing each other to form a complex structure. Several hands interact with it in different ways. They grasp, steer, stop and accompany the path.
This 1.3 m long leporello shows the installation in full width, including an accompanying text and a series of portraits.
The publication has a format of 148 x 210 mm and is published in an edition of 200 copies.
