Permanent Moment
Christine Liebich

The catalog Christine Liebich – Permanent Moment is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein.

Christine Liebich (born 1987 in Landshut, lives and works ibid.) negotiates the dualisms of today in her sculptures. The wall works bent from structural steel and cast bronzes question the relationship between culture and nature. In the work series Naturalistisch arbeitend, relief-like powder-coated steel dandelions become symbols of hope, strength, and confidence. The sculptor’s works have a fragile effect on the viewer and captivate with their graphic quality, lightness and elegance. For Liebich, they are drawings in space, timeless snapshots, equally shimmering in the light of the sun and the exhibition space.

Liebich’s exhibition at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein is accompanied by the publication of the artist’s first monograph. The book provides a comprehensive insight into her practice and documents the genesis and installation of the exhibition. The texts were written by Maurice Funken, Ben Kaufmann and Renate Puvogel.
